Winter is officially here! At Lake Mountain ski resort earlier today, the world has been dusted with a liberal sprinkling of snowy fairy dust! This area, burnt during the 2009 Victorian 'black saturday' bushfires, the area is beginning to regenerate and looks stunning at any time of year.

The Great Ocean Road, Victoria
Stunning cliffs plunging into blue crashing oceans, long sandy beaches, the infamous 12 Apostles, secluded campsites and a twisting, challenging road make this area well worth discovering, even with the rain and winds which added drama to my visit!

A return to rural Victoria
The next chapter of my discovery and travels has commenced, launching itself in rural Victoria, Australia. It's been an interesting few weeks with rains and floods throughout this fire affected landscape: plenty of water around for a change! It will be interesting to see what this place holds in store for me, what photographic delights are around the corner.

The Characters of Thailand's golden Triangle
Here is one of our friends from Doi Mae Salong, in Thailand's famed golden triangle region. Not every day you get live harmonica music from such a colourful character as you eat!

Phuket and Koh Phi Phi
Koh Phi Phi, what an beautiful gem in Thailand's crown. To whet the appetite, here are a couple of images of my time in the south of Thailand. Above: Longtail boats moor in Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi Lei. Below: The sands of Karon Beach, Phuket.

Angkor Wat, Cambodia
Amazing Angkor Wat is beyond words. The intricacy and care with which these buildings were constructed, the gradual demise and then 'rediscovery' and restoration holds a special place in the mind and imagination of anyone who visits.
Ta Prohm, the forest temple, holds a special place in my heart. Strangler figs tower over the crumbling temples, locked in a desperate battle for domination. Here is a battle between humans and nature, with restoration crews scambling to implement measures to preserve the structures, while the trees exert their stronghold, proving that sometimes nature knows best. The tourists have well and truly discovered this place; no longer is it wild Lara Croft and Indiana Jones country, but still it inspires the adventurer in us all.
